Rachel joined Chapel Hill as their viticulturist in 2007 and now manages Chapel Hill’s own vineyards and works closely with their independent growers to achieve the best possible fruit from each vineyard and vintage. Rachel has an intrinsic understanding of the essential elements for growing quality fruit and has been instrumental in encouraging and promoting vineyard health. Our grape growing principal is to obtain harmony between the vine and its environment. Vine health and balance is essential, we believe that in a balanced vineyard we will be able to articulate the characteristics of the site as well as expressing the personality of the variety. Working closely with winemakers Michael Fragos and Bryn Richards, Rachel strives for that delicate balance of providing the outstanding fruit they require and production that is healthy and sustainable for the future.
