Wednesday last week saw the first fruit harvest for vintage 2014. As is almost always the case, our Gorge Block Chardonnay got us started with some of the cleanest looking fruit in recent years. It is all hand picked and sorted in the vineyard before being whole bunch pressed and settled before being transferred to oak for fermentation.
This year we welcome our international staff, Mike and Casey from Hawkes Bay in New Zealand and Emily from the Niagara wine region in Canada.
We will be posting regular vintage updates as the harvest progresses.
