Savagnin
the climatic conditions and soils of our Kangarilla Vineyard are perfectly suited to coaxing an array of flavours from Savagnin
Description
The 2008 il Vescovo Savagnin displays layers of orange blossom and mandarin flavours underpinned by a mineral and zesty palate that is enduringly pure. This is our first release of Savagnin and we look forward with anticipation to the acceptance and enjoyment of this charismatic variety in Australia.`
Tasting Notes
Awards & Reviews for recent releases
2009 92 pts – A name change has done nothing to quash Michael Fragos’ enthusiasm for this variety, and the new vintage is his best yet. Four months on yeast lees has built minerality and texture, giving poise and distinction to its cool lemon zest and mint flavours and subtle orange blossom exotics.
