Shiraz
McLaren Vale Shiraz is typically graced with an opulently intense mouth coating palate that treads with a combination of power and grace
Description
The various vineyard parcels are harvested and fermented separately to ensure that each parcel articulates the unique character of each vineyard site. During the subsequent eighteen month oak maturation period each individual batch of barrels isracked and returned periodically, to seamlessly integrate the tannins into the wine and to ensure minimal filtration and refining is required prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes
Awards & Reviews for recent releases
2008 92 points - Great colour, didn’t note the colour exactly, but strong black purple. It’s rich, satisfying and full bodied with flavours of blackberry nip, dark chocolate and cedar, and earthy aspect and a little pepper spice. Smooth and fresh for a big wine, plenty of fine tannin but with a slight (but pleasant) grittiness to them. Quality McLaren Vale fruit from a very hot vintage, beautifully turned out and presented. Gary Walsh, Winefront, 23 April, 2010
2008 92 points - Seductive nose in the mouth rich to start but, a lovely bitter (good) edge comes into play many flavlours unfold as it travels — worth its $30 Tony Keys, Krow Report Issue 27, 2010
2007 91 pts – This is very rich stuff from the McLaren Vale region. Big coconut, smoky blackberry, cedar, chocolate and vanilla aromas spill into flavours dense with cassis, mocha, mint, cedar and blackberry. Gordon Stimmell – Toronto Star, 2010

2004 5 Stars - July 2007, Superb purple-red colour; a lovely medium bodied regional wine; luscious black fruits, dark chocolate and fine tannins, then a very long finish. Best for years. Rating 95 James Halliday, 2007
