CHAPEL HILL’S SCARCE EARTH SHIRAZ FEATURED ON adelaidenow

Check out wine writer Tony Love’s article on the McLaren Vale Scarce Earth project – featuring comments by our chief winemaker, Michel Fragos, and our amazing single site House Block Shiraz and Road Block Shiraz…

Tony writes:

“Known as the Scarce Earth project, each year since the 2009 vintage an elite selection of McLaren Vale shiraz has been judged and selected to carry that name to indicate they had been made from unique spots in such a way that overt winemaker influences were stepped back in favour of specific site characteristics.”

“The Chapel Hill 2015 Road Block Shiraz ($65) shows its earthy, ironstone and chocolate notes in direct comparison to sibling Chapel Hill 2015 House Block Shiraz, which is more about plump fruit and savoury sage-like aromatics.”
