2022 The Road Block Shiraz (2022)
This vineyard is distinctive and charismatic due to its expressive geology and unique meso-climate.
A muscular, athletic red that ripples with authority of ripe black and red berries, violet notes, bacon bone, clove-cedar wood seasoning and black pepper

Title: Halliday Wine Companion, Marcus Ellis
Description: From a 1.82ha block planted in '93; 20 months in French oak, with 21% new. From a cool year, there’s an agreeable refinement here, an intensity of delivery but with a compact nature, fruit flavours pristinely ripe but retaining a whisper of tart precision. Briary, brambly forest berries, raspberry pastille, tapenade and tart black cherries, reflected with a certain ease and generosity, likely from the clay soils, though underpinned with a rocky, ferrous minerality from the ironstone bedrock. It’s a finely constructed expression, and one with many years ahead of it.
